Material

The performance and reliability of rolling bearings are deeply influenced by the materials used for bearing components. The bearing rings and rolling elements of ZFB bearings are made of high-quality GCr15 vacuum degassing steel. The chemical composition of bearing steel GCr15 is basically equivalent to the data listed in Table one.  The majority of ball bearing retainers are stamped by the cold rolled steel sheet, while they are molded by glass fiber reinforced polyamide 6.6 or machined by brass for some types of bearings and special applications

Lubrication

Grease is the semi-solid lubricant composed of three parts including thickening agent, liquid lubricant, and additive, wherein the liquid lubricant (also referred to as base oil) covers the largest proportion of 80% to 90% in general, thickening agent of 10% to 20%, and additive of about 5%. Although these three ingredients have different proportion in the grease, they play an important role in the performance of grease.

Radial clearance

The inner side of bearing is designed with clearance in order to keep the normal operation of the bearing. The radial clearance of deep groove ball bearing is defined as the amount of axial movement of inner ring from one limit position to the other limit position when the outer ring is stationary. The amount of clearance has great influence in the load distribution, friction, vibration, noise and running precision of the bearing. On the other hand, the clearance of the bearing changes with the different type, speed and temperature rise. The radial clearance is divided into different groups so as to meet the requirements of a variety of applications. The clearance groups of deep groove ball bearing are shown in Table two.

The comparison of cage types

The standard cages of small and medium-size bearings are pressed steel cages. It almost can meet the requirements in all application conditions. However, the glass fiber reinforced polyamide 6.6 or solid brass cage is also used in some cases.
